Acting grandiose

Doesn’t that sound better than “acting big”? Not really. It just has more syllables. Some people think that using more syllables makes them sound more impressive. But it doesn’t. One of the first things an editor does is cut down all the big words to simpler ones.
Utilize = use.
Majority = most.
Prior to = before.
In order to = to.
